Lance was born and raised in San Diego. He met his wife Robin (Spinner) when he was 16 years old while attending Monte Vista High School. They dated for 3 years and were married in October of 1974. In 1979, Lance started his own grading business, Lynx Excavating and Grading, Inc., which specializes in residential grading, demolition, and pool excavations. In 1981 Robin and Lance had their first and only child, Shea Renee. Shea was married in August of 2002, and is due to have her first child in April of 2008.

Lance's interest in riding on two wheels started with a "Flea" mini bike that he bought at age 7 for $5. After a series of mini bikes and motorcycles, the last of which was a Honda CB750 Custom he bought new in 1981, a break in the two wheel adventures was mandated by the birth if his daughter. In November of 2005 he persuaded his wife to let them test the two wheel waters again with the purchase of a Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad. It only took four months to figure out that the Nomad was only a step in the right direction.

In March of 2006, Lance bought his 2006 Titanium ABS Goldwing. In February of 2007, he saw his first performance of the Gold Angels, and was totally amazed by their performance. In August of 2007, Lance tried out to be a member of the Drill Team, and is now officially "the new guy".

Lance and Robin are active members of GWRRA Chapter CA1F. They are both Level 3 Tour directors. They are also Social Event Co Directors with the Lebkuechers and Lance is the Chapter Assistant Tour Director.
